Footballers Destined For The Big Time

Written by Andy

Welcome again sports fans

Today I will be doing a short blog on footballers who I believe will move onto to bigger clubs sooner rather than later!

Some you will have heard of and of course there may be a few you haven’t so lets get into it.

Angelo Ogbonna : Position: Centre Back, Age: 24,Nationality: Italian,Current Club :  Torino

Been an admirer of Ogbonna for several years now very solid no nonsense defender but one who is very classy on the ball and knows how to use that left foot. Would be a fantastic signing for most big clubs for me as I prefer centre backs to be left and ride footed players as it provides better balance to the team. Not surprised  to see Manchester United looking at him in recent days and I’m sure he will also add to his 4 caps he has for Italy as well.

Luuk De Jong, Position: Striker, Age: 22, Nationality: Dutch,Current Club: Borussia Monchengladbach

Another top young forward plying his trade in the Dutch Eredivisie who has shown with the first team football on offer at Twente where he scored 52 goals in the past two seasons. A big move came for him in the summer when German Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach signed him up for the next five years. Its in these five years I expect De Jong to take the Bundesliga by storm and earn an even bigger move with all due respect to Gladbach. Born in Switzerland but playing for Holland where he moved to at a young age playing with players of this quality will only help his game further.

Christian Eriksen,Position: Attacking Midfielder, Age: 20 ,Nationality: Danish,Current Club: Ajax

This man makes Ajax and Denmark tick if he doesn’t perform more often than not his club and country doesn’t either. My only criticism is he should be scoring more goals at international level but that will come as he is only still 20 years old. I truly believe he will end up at a Barcelona or Real Madrid as his quality is undoubted and maybe a move away from Holland will take him to that kind of level. First team football at Ajax for the moment however will do no harm at all though this exciting technically gifted goal scoring midfielder.

Mario Gotze,Position: Attacking Midfielder/Winger,Age: 20,Nationality:German, Current Club: Dortmund

Another top young player I’ve admired for a few seasons now though admittedly Mario didn’t perform to his abilities last season with no former team-mate Kagawa being the main man. With Kagawa off to Manchester United I expect Gotze to be the main man in a very talented Dortmund midfield. He can operate as a winger or classic attacking midfielder in the number ten role. Gotze has it all and is another player I expect to move to a Barcelona or Real Madrid. He is currently playing in a top side and of course in a top league and will thrive in that side for years to come. He is part of an exciting generation of talent coming out of Germany and will be a regular for them in years to come

Adam Lallana,Position:Attacking Midfielder ,Age: 24,Nationality:English, Current Club:Southampton

I have rated this guy for years he always does something great when going forward and is a constant threat. He finally has the chance to showcase his skills in the EPL with Saints and its in this season I believe he will attract interest from some of the bigger clubs in the division. In the past three seas0ns Lallana has be instrumental in helping Saints gain back to back promotions and is a big reason why they have a great chance of staying in the EPL. Destined for bigger things for me and I hope he isn’t wasted at international level either.

Xherdan Shaqiri,Position:Winger ,Age: 20,Nationality:Swiss, Current Club: Bayern Munich

Shaqiri was immense at Basel and shone in their European campaign. That caught the eye of Bayern and I truly believe Shaqiri will go on to overtake Arjen Robben on the rest hand side of Bayern’s midfield. He is just pure all out attack and has a gifted left foot just like Robben but for me Shaqiri has more skill wise and being the younger man has more pace than his rival for the position. I expect him to shine in the Bundesliga once he establishes himself in the team, that might take longer than expected as having Robben and Ribery on the flanks will make it a difficult task to break in right away however Bayern as ever will be chasing everything so squad rotation will be key.

Keisuke Honda,Position: Attacking Midfielder,Age: 26,Nationality:Japanese, Current Club:CSKA Moscow

This man is already a superstar but for me a big move is right around the corner. Has performed very well in Russia and surely a bigger club beckons for Japan’s star talisman. He can play in a variety of positions in attacking areas and can even play just off the forward which is perfect for away matches in Europe depending on how CSKA set up.Honda equals goals and assists and many of them and I hope he gets the big move soon to see how much better he can become in a more challenging league with all due respect to the Russian league.

Luciano Narsingh,Position:Winger ,Age: 22,Nationality:Dutch, Current Club:PSV Eindhoven

Not many in the game are as quick as Narsingh he has electrifying pace and skill to match. He was excellent for Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie and its no surprise PSV decided to spend a very bargain like price in 4.1 million Euros. PSV gives him the platform to perform in a winning side at home and potentially in Europe and for me that’s where the big teams will be monitoring his progress I’m sure. Already with 4 caps and 2 goals for Holland to his name I’m sure these figures will be greater this time next year.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen,Position: Goalkeeper,Age:20 ,Nationality:German, Current Club:Borussia Monchengladbach

I have been raving about this lad for a couple of seasons now he is an exceptional goalkeeper who is destined for the very top. If it wasn’t for the excellent Manual Neuer this man would be Germany’s number one for me. It will not be long until a big team snaps him up but he is currently with a top young side in Gladbach at the moment where first team football will only help him strive further. Already saved a Messi penalty it wouldn’t surprise me if he did the same for Real Madrid in years to come he is that good.

Andre Schurrle,Position:Forward/Winger,Age:21 ,Nationality:German, Current Club:Bayer Leverkusen

Another top young player coming out of Germany Andre Schurrle is top dollar. Chelsea were reportedly linked with him in the recent transfer window but it will take a lot of money to get this guy. He really has it all pace, power, skill and is good on the ground and in the air. He is a complete forward but one who’s pace allows him to play in the wider areas also. I’d like to see Leverkusen give him the main striking role and let him thrive and score lots of goals. A big move may happen sooner rather than later for Schurrle and he is good enough to grace any league.

So there you have it thats ten top players that for me will go onto bigger and better things in the game. Some have achieved a lot already and some are still learning their trade. But it wouldn’t surprise me if most of these players ended up in England,Spain or Italy with massive clubs in the near future. I could have added so many more but these are players I feel stand out and are players that I have admired for several seasons at least. Who would you select? Feel free to comment below!

Thanks again for taking time out your day to read my latest blog I’ll be back again soon!
