Simon Whitlock (5) v Kim Huybrechts

This has the makings of a cracker both very steady players, the defending champion Simon Whitlock was never going to get an easy draw but in Kim Huybrechts this is outside the seeds one of the more dangerous players Whitlock could have got

Wes Newton (7) v Jelle Klaasen

Wes Newton is one of the most improved players in the last five years and I feel like the Premier League has made wes even more of a fighter than he already was and in Jelle Klassen who is on the comeback trail after personal controversies, but the 2006 lakeside world champion has showed signs he is finding form again should be a good game

Andy Hamilton (6) v Terry Jenkins

These are two of the work horses in darts and this shows how good the standard is, now this would not look out of place as a final but its a first round match i think Hamilton will nick this he is in for good showing in Dubai and in the UK Open but this is a cracking first round game

James Wade (4) v Mark Webster

This was supposed to be James Wade v Gary Anderson but due to illness Anderson has had to pull out of the tournament so Welshman Mark Webster steps in. The battle of the left handers now and this should be a very good match indeed, if Webster can recapture any of his past form he could run Wade close but I think The Machine will sneak this one in a close game.

Now whos going to take home the title?

Phil+Taylor+interview

(Taylor hoping to be on target at the Euro’s)

World Champion Phil Taylor can never be counted out he won the uk open at the start of june and will be there and thereabouts

(MVG’s chances of winning are this big)

Michael van Gerwen is a form horse winning over £100,000 on the pro tour events alone and another £200.000 by winning the Premier League and Dubai Darts Masters it will be no shock if he wins this.

Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis will be thereabouts with the likes of Hamilton, Wade and Whitlock will all want their name on that trophy and of course the nine dart finish is always a possibility when you have talent like this on show.

Hope you all enjoy the European Championships starting tomorrow on ITV4 and till next time its Gazz saying Game On
